THE OPPORTUNITY
New school. New country. Same you — but sharper. Starting over is hard. New school, new uniform, new rules, new people who don't know you yet. Whether it's boarding school, an international relocation, or a mid-year move, the pressure to perform — socially, academically, personally — lands before day one. Most boys walk into that first day hoping to survive. EQuipped for Change is for the ones who want more than that. This isn't a programme about managing change. It's about understanding who you are when everything around you shifts — and using that knowledge as the thing that sets you apart. Your values don't move when you do. Your identity doesn't need a new postcode. What you need are the tools to deploy it. Every boy who's moved before has already learned something most people never do. The ability to read a room. The instinct to adapt. The resilience that builds when the familiar falls away. EQuipped for Change names it, sharpens it, and turns it into your edge.
Starting boarding and/or secondary school Some boys arrive having already left something behind — friends, reputation, the version of themselves that felt settled. We help them arrive as themselves, not start from scratch. Moving away from home for the first time brings real pressure — social, academic, emotional. Boys who arrive with tools to manage that transition don't just cope. They lead.
Moving internationally Relocating mid-adolescence means rebuilding everything. But boys who've done it once — or more — carry a social intelligence most of their peers will never have. EQuipped names it and develops it.
Military and service families Service children move more, adapt faster, and often carry their resilience quietly. EQuipped for Change was built with this community in mind — and speaks directly to the experience of constant transition.
The EQ Passport
Individual & Personal
Throughout EQuipped for Change, every boy builds his EQ Passport — a personal document that grows with him, lesson by lesson, across the full programme.
It grows with him
It's not homework. It's a record of self-knowledge: who he is, what he values, how he operates under pressure, and the tools he's adding to his kit. He owns it. He takes it with him, wherever he goes next.
6 Modules
1. Know Yourself: Identity, values, and what makes you tick 2. Your Brain on Change: The science of transition — demystified 3. Forces on the Bag: What shapes the way you show up 4 . The Masks We Wear: Authenticity and the art of being known 5. Social Fitness: How to read, enter, and build new social worlds 6. Packed & Ready: Tools locked in. Ready to move.
01 Tip It Out Examine what you're already carrying. Your strengths, your stories, your ways of showing up under pressure. You can't choose what to pack if you don't know what you've already got.
02 Sort It Out Some of it stays. Some of it served you then but won't serve you now. Boys who've moved before already know this — they've practised the edit. We help them do it with intention.
03 Pack With Purpose Add the tools you didn't know you needed. Emotional intelligence. Relational intelligence. The ability to show up fully and operate effectively — even when the ground is still moving.
